I love how deathclaws are actually scary in the old games but in 76 they are just any old nuisance.

The best defensive platform for a melee build is three wood stilted floor sections arranged in a shallow jump staircase. They won't ascend it. Make sure it's tall enough to be outside of their melee range but inside of yours. Deathclaws don't swipe up.
