15th century knight armor with pole axe and dagger vs 14th century knight armor of the Novgorod Republik with shield and onehanded war axe and mace.

The weight and size of these weapons are historical accurate. Onehanded Axes and maces in the 14th century had to be this small to be agile and quick to use. Twohanded weapons can be heavier, but even there u need a light weapon. A sledge hammer don't work in a fight were every quick thrust can end your life.

The poleaxe is a safe training tool from dominus gladius: dominusgladius.com/poleks-ver.1/

The onehanded weapons are also blunt, but made of steel. The weight and sizes are historical accurate. The onehanded axes and maces of the 14th century had to be this small to be agile and quick to use. Twohanded weapons can be heavier, but even there you need a light weapon. A sledge hammer don't work in a fight were every quick thrust can end your life.

I appreciate the dedication involved that people are willing to die to make these shorts.

We could be fighting in a field of flowers, but instead we are sitting in our chairs watching it...

I like how there's like 200 years of difference between their armor

Honestly, the lack of extra sound effects and music is really awesome to hear. It’s exactly what you’d get irl—all you’d hear is your movement against the flowers, the breathing of both parties, and the clashing of metal. That sounds fuckin rad.

Ok can we just appreciate how beautiful the location is. The greyish blue sky just makes the bright red and blue flowers pop so much making for eye catching scenery for the fight

Absolutely brilliant!

I wish movies did their sound design like this instead of all the whooshes and booms and orchestral swells. this is way more brutal and real

Accurate, but its hard to capture the sheer brutality of the adrenaline rushes they would have had, which would have made things a bit quicker and way more messy.

A full medieval fight scene in a poppy field like this would be cinematic bliss. Something about nature's serenity juxtaposed against the violence of men.

The fact that this is so real - the sound, the action, the motion make this the best channel for medival content. Plus the locations are stunning!

The concept of just two men essentially trying to rench each other open slowly is kinda terrifying , especially when there is barely eney sound
