I honestly think Granolah arc was the different style of story telling I have seen in Dragonball. I think it basically laid the foundation that you can become stronger just by using DragonBall Balls(Orange Piccolo).
Also it showed if multiple people wish to become strongest in the universe, how that works and cost of it.
Also this arc didn't had a Typical Dragonball villain. The villains in Dragonball are what drive the arc and defeating those villain is what the arc is set to. But neither Granolah nor Gas actually seemed like a villain. They served as a tool for Goku and Vegita to measure the limits of their new transformations.
But I think the real villain of this arc was actually Black Freeza. I mean multiple times he was referenced, so it was clear that he was gonna participate. Black Freeza easily killing Gas and defeating Goku and Vegita, this might be the only arc where a villain wins at the end.
Personally I won't say it was disappointing, I think Toyotaro deliberately tried to write a story in entire different manner compared to Moro Arc.

OK I'm sick of people saying they get a new form every arc and saying that's a problem when literally every arc of DBZ introduced a new form
Saiyan saga- kaioken
Frieza saga Ssj
Cell saga- ssj 2
Buu saga- ssj 3
The forms being introduced in super hold just as much weight and purpose as they did then. Yall just like to nitpick....
