Vespasian ruled for a decade, dying at the age of 69 (of course). He was the one who ordered the construction of Rome's famous Flavian Amphitheater, now known simply as "The Coliseum". Overall, he seemed to be a rather competent ruler. NOT a good person, but he knew how to keep things from falling apart, at least.
His son, Titus, on the other hand, was a bit nicer. He ordered several public works projects, saw to the completion of the Coliseum, and financed relief efforts out of pocket for several major disasters, including (but not limited to) the infamous eruption of Mount Vesuvius.

An alternate account of Nero is that he was a “man of the people”. He was very friendly to the masses, didn’t play by the elite’s rules and was passionate about acting which was seen at the time as being worse than prostitution.
All of the historians living when he was emperor were a part of the extremely wealthy elite. Meaning they were practically enemies. So his enemies wrote the stories about him.
It’s not clear if it’s true but if it is then he is probably the most mischaracterized person in history.
Being known thousands of years after your death as a cruel and psychotic emperor when he probably was a generous and beloved ruler is insane lol
