I had avascular necrosis so I had no choice but to get a hip replacement. Best thing I ever did.

That is so interesting—-1/3 of people who have hip replacements need a “revision surgery.” Thank you for the facts.

I had a successful hip replacement. But within 4years my hip alignment changed and now my other hip is out of alignment and painful and I walk with a limp again. Every action has a reaction!

Amongst my friends and acquaintances, it’s more than HALF who have had failed hip replacements. As for knee replacement, my nephew who is 36 y/o is on his THIRD redo and he’s a baseball coach. Don’t believe the doctors (at first) - it’s a business!!!

I just wish I'd known to keep my gluteals in shape along the road I travelled to get hip arthritis in the first place God only knows I was doing and trying everything else haha which in fact I now know was exhilarating the degenerative process in my hip joint to the point of severe osteoarthritis.

Better late than never I guess but boy do I hope it's not too late. Cos I'm not having surgery that's for sure.

Our govt. has promoted increasing dependency on them on purpose, but many people, would rather play the victimized blame game and not have to be responsible and accountable for their health and well being; preferring instead to get a shot or a pill or surgeries. I was in healthcare (OT) 35 years and saw a steady decline in our healthcare system and steady incline in, let’s just say, lack of intrinsic drive/motivation. Truth.
What if our government rewarded us for being healthy and taking care of ourselves instead of the opposite? 😉 just sayin’ 😊❤😊
Thank you for your intelligent vide

So, what should we do?

Based on what you said Dr. David…..one needs to think seriously about hip rehabilitation as the rate of surgical failure is alarmingly high…too high imo.

When I was in my fifties I hung around multiple groups of extremely active people and so I know quite a few people that have had hip and knee replacements from what I saw during their recovery I would never ever have that surgery! I'm 65 years old and I'm just going to deal with it.
