Absolutely fantastic film, the most emotionally open and vulnerable Superman we've ever seen. It's not an origin story but the character is still young and the world is still changing around him. Best Superman movie since the original by a mile

I think the movie really nails that aspect of Superman. He was pet sitting, dealing with relationship problems, but at the same time dealing with a bald Karen with money staging a military conflict just to have an excuse to kill him.

Reason why Superman isn't "manly or confident" enough and is vulnerable and "loses" is because of his frustration as he wants to save people as much as possible and not kill them as a result of his actions etc which Cavill drones want. This is the closest Superman we can get to DC canon! People want him to act like a dumb, autonomous, cold brute. We have Bizzaro for that. 😂

Making supes human, relatable was key. People so used to the "jesus figure" and "father figure". Someone who is not only godlike but also has all the answers and solutions. This is how you write yourself in a corner. As alien as superman is, he is very human

The movie is basically a Superman focused Super Friends episode with a $200 million budget and I love it.
