The interest only part is not actually terrible advice. Thats how i paid my mortgage off completely. Paid interest only and used my cash to buy and sell cars and other items and redurbish the house. Then when fixed rate term ran out, paid as much off as i could with the money i had made and got a better loan to value rate as i added value to the property and i then started a new interest only fixed term for a lower rate and repeated the process until mortgage was paid off. Mortgage free by 32.
