The one thing that's been missing from Scotland for many years now is a proper winger. Sure you can knock it long for Dykes to hold the ball up, but having a winger to stretch the play and to force opposition fullbacks to be more defensive can have many positives. Playing central players like McGinn and Christie out wide isn't going to help you create more chances. Since Doak has come in Scotland's attacking play has improved. They are more of a threat going forwards now. In the Euro's the lack of a proper winger was very evident. It's too much to ask left back Andy Robertson to be both a winger and fullback.
