Iāll take the liberty to join your community with my best coments. Iām a Brazilian artist and activist and technology lover. So, here it goes.
Lots (most of) of students in US donāt know nothing about geopolitics too. We see how education has intentional uses for capitalist productivity.
But hereās the thing, political and organizational strategy is maybe utopia for some, or is a lost cause, but itās actually what make us dream about a possible world, and not the contrary.
Education is serious stuff. However, we are socially built as beingsā like Vigotsky and Piaget pointed last century. We also remember Paulo Freire (Brazilian Educator) āthe dream of the oppressed without education is to be the opressorā.
So, just make part of the structure as productive pieces and donāt think about what weāre doing, doesnāt help to overcome this falling world (neo liberal, capitalist, imperialist) structures nowadays.
Thatās why I disagree with this type of (videoās) view. The ādev bubbleā should know MUCH more about the world theyāre in. Not seeing through internet, but living it.

This seems so wrong. Coding is so fundamental, AI can only do most of the work, but you have to be able to understand what itās doing to collaborate on building things

lol AI has yet to show any superpowers. Just probability inference machines that are decent at giving you something interesting but not super useful for coding. Horrible at coming up with anything new.
