Watched the movie earlier and all i can say is you're wrong. The CGI and the animation was great and fun fact every flashback scenes that aren't a basketball scene is completely 2D hand drawn animation with a shading imitating a 3D cgi

Anime fans and CG never fail to disappoint me. This looks fantastic! Anime has gotten so stagnant since newer styles and ideas are always shunned.

CGI it's a tool in my opinion a great tool for sports anime because it's allowed to create more realistic movements and with a better quality obviously if a good studio take care of it

The first slam dunk, where they mocapped people, did CG animation, then had to make that look like 2D animation.

i enjoy this more than i expected i didnt even watch slamdunk but i start to watch after this movie
i understand that only OG fans could appreciate this anime, i watch couple of eps when i was 10 and now ive been kinda a sneakerheads and i enjoy all together even more looking at the anime based of and enjoy Jordan shoes i start to gather interest piece by piece about NBA, and basketball and snaekrs culture from this anime
