પશ્ચિમ બંગાળ સરકારે કોલકાતા પોલીસ કમિશનર વિનીત ગોયલને પદ પરથી હટાવી દીધા છે. તેમનું સ્થાન મનોજ વર્મા લેશે. 9 ઓગસ્ટના રોજ આરજી કર મેડિકલ કોલેજમાં તાલીમાર્થી ડોક્ટરની બળાત્કાર-હત્યાના કેસમાં જુનિયર ડોક્ટરોએ પોલીસ કમિશનર અને આરોગ્ય વિભાગના ડિરેક્ટરને હટાવવાની માગ કરી હતી. આરોગ્ય વિભાગના વધુ ચાર અધિકારીઓની પણ બદલી કરવામાં આવી છે. તબીબી શિક્ષણ નિયામક ડો.કૌસ્તુવ નાયકને આરોગ્ય-પરિવાર કલ્યાણ નિયામક બનાવવામાં આવ્યા છે. આરોગ્ય સેવાઓના નિયામક ડો. દેવાશીષ હલદરને જાહેર આરોગ્યના ઓએસડી બનાવવામાં આવ્યા છે. ત્રિપુરારી અથર્વ ડીઇઓના ડાયરેક્ટર તરીકે ચૂંટાયા છે.
