Just found it today crushed the first four episodes and I totally see the blue exorcist comparison (with the classroom aspect of it and like you said, the first episode is heavily influenced )and obviously there’s a clear dead man’s Wonderland comp due to the blood manipulation

I dont understand how people can defend this. He literally just explained how the first episode beat for beat copies Blue Exorcist. Now to be fair its like the Villainess genre where they tend to have the first same episode but they diverge afterwards. Tougen Aki's first episode goes beyond inspiration into straight plagiarism and its not even up to debate.

Nope the story so far are the same but its like instead of Rin Okumura going to become a Exorcist he goes to the underworld school to become a demon fighting for demon rights in the human world. the fact is the main characters of both anime are the same... and there both in a school environment to fight against the opposite faction with both sides wanting to act like there the ones in the right and from both of there point of views they are right meaning there both wrong. at episode 2 the anime still feels a lot like a blue exorcist clone.

It is nothing like Blue exorcist. Only idiots said that. In Blue Exorcist, the MC joined the good guys. In Tougen Anki, the MC joined the "bad guys" as Oni are viewed as dangerous monsters by normal humans and society. Tougen Anki is more similar to Tokyo Ghoul. The MC is on the side that is hunted and is struggling to survive.
