In 2022, I found a note under the buttplate of a .300 Savage Model 99 stating the ownerâs name, address, and when the note was writtenâŚSept. 1952. With my handloads, that gun was an MOA shooter. I kind of regret letting it go, but .300 Savage ammo is difficult to find and I got tired of making brass for it out of .308 Win.

My 375 Weatherby has an Edwards Recoil Reducer in the stock AND the barrel is Mag-Na-Ported. The first couple times l fired it, it's recoil was softer than a 375 should of been. All Weatherby Mark 5's should be Mag-Na-Ported. This reduces the cheek slap from the Monte Carlo forward sloping comb on the stock.

Thank`s fore posting all the nice guns and History.
I have 2 orginal Longrange Rifles and a couple off replika Longrange rifles , all have 500 to 700 grams off wheight in the stock, this is guns that shoot 550 grains bullets and have 90 to 110 granis powdercharges.. I know there have bine experimented with tubes contaning mercury and the movment off the mercury would reduse recoil.

The Winchester factory put lead in buttstock of most all the Model 12 3" Heavy Duck guns.
