The other day I learned you can negate a non gemini - summoned gemini monster.
You negate the effect that makes it a normal monster
So it goes from an effect monster to a normal monster cosplay to an effect monster with its effects negated.
On a related note, a Gemini summon is still a summon so you can Solemn it.

This ruling came into play in one of my games recently, I was playing Sky Striker and wanted to use Widow Anchor to take control of the opponent's Baronne. They tried to negate the Widow Anchor, but I imperm'd their Baronne thinking I'd still be able to steal it. Unfortunately, Widow Anchor fizzled out because the negate has to happen before the steal and the target was already negated.

This also comes into play with skill drain and cards that can tribute themselves for their effect. Imperm and Veiler would stop lonefire blossom outright. But since their effects are already being negated by skill drain, there's no effect to negate so they don't work. But since skill drain only cares about monsters on the field, lonefire will be resolved normally.

On master duel i remember an instance in which i used droplet on a shangri ira, to then go into arc rebellion and punch through a fenrir, thinking that arc rebellion's permanent negate would prevent the shangri ira from activating next standby phase
Nope...since i used droplet first, only its temporary negate applied...and shangri ira was online again next turn

Yugioh is both horrific and beautiful because of these little rules all over the place
