Is there any chance a random tourist would stumble across this? I would feel like I was in a Hollywood movie about another time and place. What visual eye candy and great narration of this important set of rituals. LOVE the small child chant at the end.

So interesting! I’m always never heard about it. But I’m imagine this tradition in mestechko/shtetl…. I’m self from small shtetl and immigrated just 10 years ago.
It was different infrastructure, and walking around after any event with other Jewish was very comfortable. Probably better, than in Brooklyn )))) but it wasn’t our religious tradition of course.

What community! It's heartwarming to see so many people together, dancing, smiling, sharing.....no pockets of people fighting, arguing or doing their own thing (maybe that happens, I'm just commenting on my initial impression). As someone who is alone by most definitions, I often wish I had such a community to belong to.
