While the factors range on the limitations on self-improvement while in a toxic space, I have yet to see many people really be able to change with these parameters at play. All of one's energy, focus, and survival skills are taken up by the volatility and crazy making of toxicity, and there is rarely much left over for one's own introspection, self-awareness, reflection, and self-care. While there is no blaming or judgment here, I want to offer a solid acknowledgment of the deep pain and "stuckness" so many of these people feel and hoe they can hear me when I say that your own change is 100% possible, but you first need to work on securing your own emotional safety and space before the deeper work can fully be begun.
