The debate over what Pterosaurs and their relatives are covered in has been a very, very long one. Did they have hair? Is it feathers? Is it something completely different? Is it the same integument dinosaurs have? Why is it important to know? What does it imply about their relationship to dinosaurs?

Its interesting because emperor penguins have been recorded as having up to 20 different kinds of feather shapes. So to say that they couldn't be feathers on pterosaurs because they were different structures and shapes is crazy to me

Feathers really are just a more specialized hair.
Which is just a more specialized scale.
Which is just a more specialized membrane...
I just realized how weird humans are for having bare skin with minimal fuzziness.

Noticed that your Scaphognathus had forward-facing wing claws, which makes sense given the Rhamphichnus trackways, and your Pterorhynchus has backward-facing hands, which also makes sense because of its position as a basal Monofenestratan

But in the full video, your Jeholopterus has typical pterodactyloid backward-facing fingers, despite its position in the "rhamphorynchoid-grade" pterosaurs, can I ask why that is?

I'm not trying to be rude in the slightest, the video was amazing and incredibly well-researched, this was just something that caught my eye

OK but the real question is, how soft were these animals based on their fuz?? This is purely for science and not at all because I want to recreate what petting one would feel like
