The crossover pattern that I developed allows for continuous smooth sweeps, and feels quite natural to play. Here I'm using it as a halftime shuffle, but you could play it as a regular shuffle if you like.

Iâm old and my drum teacher was in his 80s. He taught me this back in the mid 1960s on his kit with calfskin heads. It never sounded as sweet on my kit at home with Mylar heads.
