NTA at all!!! It was left for the women for a reason. If your brother wants to get married he can use his own money or the parents can work hard and get their own. That money was left to you and your sister. Not your parents. Honestly people care more abt money than relationships🤦🏼‍

NTA. You have to ask ANYTIME before taking ANY money. Especially if it affects someone’s future there are so many opportunities she could have got but her AH took it. Like ask if she’s ok with it or if she’s not then JUST take the sister portion of it DON’T be a AH about it

NTA for sure. If the aunt wanted to give the women in her family money for their education it is definitely not ok for the parents, who have no right to the money, go ahead and use it on their sons wedding. I'm sure that if the great aunt had been there, she would be absolutely livid. I mean, the money is for the neices, not the nephews, and it's for something very very important like an education. It's not like the aunt was giving money for the women to go on a vacation.

NTA at all that’s soo messed up! I totally understand this situation, I was the only female in my family and my mom paid for my brothers wedding expenses from money that had been left to me by my great-grandmother as I’m the only granddaughter/great granddaughter. My mom then said she would little by little put money back for when I got married or went to college. Nothing was ever put back and when she had to take money from my dads 401k she blamed it on me having expensive taste for my wedding when me and my husband fully funded our whole wedding ourselves.. when my dad passed my mom gave the same brother $10k towards the down payment on his house when my husband and I purchased our first home I asked my mom to make me some custom made curtains that I’d buy the material for and she said no because it would cost too much meanwhile she made curtains for every room in my brothers house.. 🤷🏼‍

NTA I wonder if the brother knew anything about it because there’s a possibility that he didn’t .

From what I remember her brother had no idea they had taken the funds from her college account and he's doing a payment plan to pay it back. I think

Stealing is stealing. Using culture to justify it is absolutely ridiculous.

Nta, it's stealing. Living in a different culture I'd be more mad my kids weren't treated equally, but I'd never take my kids money.

The parents had no right to touch this money. And if the son didn't have enough money to get married he shouldn't of gotten married at all smh. This is sickening and I don't know any parent that would think this is ok. I hope she gets back every penny and more!!! And for her parents and brother

Nope not the AH. That money was for college not weddings. Your aunt would be very angry.

I don't think you're in the wrong. If it was set aside for you, then it's yours. Hoping you win.

If the sister didnt mind much, then the parents should have only used some of hers and let the brother, bride, & her fam to fund for the rest of the wedding. And yet they didn't 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
