The US F-8E also has under wing pylons for ground ordnance.
The reason the F-8E has them and not the F-8C (F8U-2) is because the F-8E had wing strengthening, increasing the carrying capacity.

The US pog planes were the first jets I truly had fun in. Their quad missile armament is amazing (lol long range 18G missile vs flareless jets) especially the 9Cs on the F8E, and the dogfight performance especially at low speed with the funny wing mode is great for slaying anything from the A5C to the MiG-21.

As a french grinder i can say that this is absolute pain. I'm almost done grinding for this plane and then hearing that there is no flares or chaff on this plane is just...

So for anyone wondering why: the French carrier these were based off of (I don’t remember her name) was considerably smaller than the US carriers. So a s a result they had to lighten the aircraft so it could take off and land without issue. Off the top of my head I believe they had to remove the IRST sensor the countermeasures and limit its ordnance; there’s prolly a few others but I’m too lazy to look it up. But now you know.

Meanwhile, my F8 wings snap 80% of me match while trying to dodge the missiles. I died more because of the wings than getting shot down by someone.

France in general is a majority slept on nation. It's three Premium jets are really solid, those are the planes that got me into playing france. And if anyone would like to pick them up, now's a great time because War Thunder's having a sale right now and you can pick up their 60 dollar packs for around 35 dollars.

Okay but lots of planes in the 10.0 bracket don't have counter measures. My favourite J35D suffers to all aspects, but that's because of the br compression

The f8 and a7 suck with a joystick in war thunder. Not sure why but the up and down of these planes is not stable. With a7 its really bad you let go of joystick and plane points to ground by itself. I think its just joystick. So with this said im guessing your flying off mouse and keyboard... why? You on welfare and cant afford 100.00 joystick?
