If Josh Trank taught us anything, is that you can't go from a low-budget movie to a big-budget movie
You need to go from low to medium, and then from medium to big
Is all about gaining credibility. You never know when a studio is gonna think they can control you. You need to show them that you know what you're doing better than them.

Is suspect it's because the Fantastic Four were created in a time when families were a thing. When fathers were respected and families did things together. Before half of marriages ended in divorce.
The closest thing to a family adventure I can think of in recent years is the Lost in Space reboot, and that was based on something from the same time as the Fantastic Four, and even then the family had to be broken. Maybe the Incredibles?
I think the story is still a good story, but the audience for that story doesn't exist in enough numbers any more to make the movie a success.
If I were going to try to make a Fantastic Four movie, I think I would start it in the past , have them be testing a prototype hyperspace engine, get exposed to cosmic rays and end up in the present due to relativity. That way you could preserve the family as it was meant to be, but still set it in modern times.

You have 4 members you need to nail to make the story work and on top of that people donāt care as much about the ff as they do about the avengers so they donāt get the love and detail that the avengers did š¤·š»āāļø
Honestly a crime tho because I grew up a fantastic four kid and I still remember the old pc game

Why? Sue. They never get that character right. Just like EVERY strong family, a tough yet still feminine mother is the key. Casting hotties who look like Playboy bunnies doesn't satisfy the maternal component, which is 10x hotter than a pretty face. Imagine the mom from The Incredibles. That's who they need to cast, not someone who looks more like a damsel in distress.
