Lettuce is an easy vegetable to grow and it is a great option if you are starting a garden for the first time!
I like to use the method of growing called "cut and come again" instead of planting individual heads of lettuce. With "cut and come again" lettuce, you trim back the lettuce when you want to harvest. Within a couple of weeks you will have fresh new growth ready to be trimmed again. βοΈβ£
Lettuce is a cool weather crop so it's best to plant it in the early spring. Start seeds indoors as early as ~10 weeks before your last frost date.
I start lettuce in 6-cell @BootstrapFarmer trays. These trays are super durable and will last for years! I use the different color trays to color code the varieties of lettuce. This helps me stay organized!
I put them in a 1020 tray so I can bottom water. 1020 trays also help with transporting seedlings!

I had trouble with spinach recently, the seeds all sprouted, got their first leaves, had ample light abd moisture, but all randomly shriveled up and died right b4 I was ready to repot them π’
