I really wish parents would stop pulling their kids by the arms like this because that's how you get a dislocated arm.

Every family is different. Unless you live it you can't judge parents choices.

But what about when it IS a dangerous situation?
Im a daycare teacher with 2 year olds. And the most often i deal with running is when we are outside and they take off their shoes and they run away from me when i tell them they have to put their shoes on.
Its not the most dangerous situation but there are rocks and sticks and woodchips that i domt want them to step on.

What my work has us do is say "we wear shoes outside, its not safe. You may sit at the table until youee ready ro wear shoes" and that may or may not work in that moment. More often than not i get a "no" and they scream and run away :/ and they will definitely do it again

Asking them what they're doing while they're hopped up and running away doesn't cause them to slow down and internalize anything in that moment. Ugh. Good lord.

Lord no. You tell them what they need to do, punish them if they donā€™t. You are not here to be besties w your friends. You are here to raise them to go into the world w the rest of us and not be a trash person. Stop letting children run the home.

Yeah, this is why people got leashes for their kids because they didn't teach their kids that there is a time not to run. I don't know that I agree with this teaching method entirely. It's sort of the roadkill lesson. Show kids what can happen if they make a bad choice
Edited to add, as in not looking across the road, not that they're gonna get beaten by a parent

My kids knew that running from me would be the end of life as they knew it.

Kids act the way you allow them to act. Their children. Pop on the high knee a timeout take everything they care about away from them etcetera do it in your own order in your own way just don't abuse your kid LOL however I do believe a kids should be afraid of their consequences from their parents! I am not your buddy I'm your mama. And I give a whole hell of a lot of love but in the same sense of that giving love I will also not allow my kids to disrespect me or treat me like one of their buddies. Lots of love with some discipline..ā¤
