The Royal Albert Hall version of Fat Old Sun is my all time favorite David Gilmour performance. I can't really explain it, but the outright JOY the solo at the end gives me brings me to tears every time. There's just something about it that feels like pure happiness. I also think about it being one of the last times David and Rick played live together. Echos is the masterpiece for the two of them together, but the simplicity of Fat Old Sun just really hits me in an emotional place that very little music can reach.
