What's life time though 5 years? My current car is 23 years old. What electric is lasting that long. What about the amount of materials that need to be excavated for these batteries. What do you do with the batteries. Seems smoke and mirrors this stuff.

The elephant in the room is environmental cost of new car manufacture, and the lobbying of politicians by manufacturers to get consumers to buy new cars. Much more sensible and cheaper for consumers is to keep their existing cars running as long as possible. But do any politicians propose this option? Never. ELEPHANT. ROOM.
