Hi JT, l’m one of your big fans. Thxs for all of your advices! For an experienced & successful professional who is out of work for the last 1.5 years as a result of a voluntarily leave to take care of a family health emergency, do you recommend this person to mention this fact in her/his Cover Letter? Could you please also comment on if this person is getting a Referral for a Corporate job, do you instead recommend the “Referrer” to share the reason of this person’s voluntary leave in the “comments” section of his/her Referral instead of the job applicant in a Cover Letter?
To provide you more context, while this person was very close to get a job offer multiple times, she/he did not get it due to budget cut-backs, hiring freezes or job cancellations or changing priorities of the companies. Do you have any specific advice for such candidates on their approach when they get invited for interviews nowadays? Do they ever mentions their voluntary leave to the hiring team during their interview talks, at all? Many thanks 💐
