In my experience, I realized the following: - only Silver Reed is still producing home knitting machines... at very high prices. - Said so, most of the machines you can find are used, and often abandoned, sold (or almost gave away) from sons and grandsons of the user which passed away recently. Most of times they are full of debris and sometimes even rusted, so be prepared to restore them, or at least to find a restorer nearby. - About this, it is easier to find restorers and in general parts for Brother and other Japanese machines, as these machines are smaller and easier to carry around. European machines (Passap, Superba...) are very heavy and, at least in Italy, is really rare to find someone who wants to restore them. - MUCH ATTENTION TO ACCESSORIES! Most of times knitting machines are sold "with accessories" and then you realize you have just bought parts of an accessory, but not the full set. I bought a Passap Deco and there wasn't the card reader, I have a Forma without the proper support. I have recently bought a Passap E6000 and two Electra motors (the really first one, which was already mounted on that E6000 I bought, and the 3000A), the first one is missing the driver plate (much likely it was mounted on another lock which was sold away), the second one is missing the pedal, the power cord and maybe some other plates... and those parts are really rare (I found only Passap Canada selling them... a piece of metal 52$ + shipping + customs...) And yes, I am trying to use my 3d printer to print my missing Passap parts... but unfortuntately I am not really in 3D CAD modeling :-/
