Nothing like procrastinating on important life stuff by making an AMV of my favorite character from Dracula to a song by my favorite musician :)

Idk if its an unpopular opinion but I have a soft spot for Renfield and believe he was truly done dirty by everyone in the story except maybe Mina. My dude was living in a victorian asylum (one of my worst nightmares) and was manipulated by a being of pure evil using his desire for life, love, and freedom against him. I know he was a homicidal maniac and I won't pretend he's not or that he's even a good person, but I mean really, no one deserves what he went through.

Also yes I know book Renfield was like 50 and had white hair but I prefer to draw Renfield as he appeared when played by Dwight Frye in Dracula (1931) starring Bela Lugosi.

Renfield sits alone in the asylum, waiting for his Master to return. Dr. Seward speaks to him about his habit of eating living things, mostly to distract himself from Lucy.
Renfield escapes the asylum to see Dracula but is brought back by Dr Seward. Renfield refusea to disclose any information about his Master to Seward, who is starting to realize what is going on.
Seward, Van Helsing, Quincey, Johnathan, and Arther chase off Dracula and his rats with Arther's terriers.
Renfield attacks Dr. Seward in the asylum and plays with the blood (I believe he licks it up in the book). After this, he is put in a straight jacket.
Dracula eventually returns to the asylum, to Renfield's excitement, but he is not there for Renfield. He is there for Mina Harker (represented by luna moth), who he is converting into a vampire. Renfield (represented by a fly in a jar) realizes this, has a change of heart, and attacks Dracula for hurting Mina. Dracula lifts him into the air and slams him to the ground, mortally wounding him and leaving.
The dying Renfield reflects on how Dracula never intended to keep his promises and was only using him.
After telling the male protagonists what had been happening and how Mina is Dracula's target, he dies alone in his room.
