That’s also the case with aquarelle brushes, i crinch when seeing a brush sitting with its tip in a glass of liquid. Also for Japanese calligraphy brushes its a not done. Either lay them down or hang them on a stand. I don’t own one but i let them dry laying down and than put them upside down. I use these brushes for aquarelle too. I wish more people would follow this rule.

found this out the hard way in my youth when learning to paint on canvas. there’s an artist’s technique of moistening the bristles with water and wrapping in a little tissue paper to form back into shape. allow to dry for a day or two -and often it will “reset” them back to original point. have tried on some cheaper pana brushes and it worked pretty well. would never abuse my Suzie brushes though, they’re far too nice -those get immediately recapped after use and hung upside down in the springs of my station light.
