I know it wasn't the highest grade armor, but the tree is very happy to have it!

such a fascinating period in history where armor outpaced the weapons ability to penetrate it
you would likely see even less damage to the armor while being worn over padded clothing on a person. if that person is putting any attempt in to defend themself as well, good luck trying to break it 😅

Plus you don‘t wear only plate for anything that might penetrate enough to touch skin otherwise. People always forget that armor was used cause it FUCKING WORKED. It was as exepensive as our tanks speaking in relative terms. You would spend this money for no use and people you have to lift onto a horse just to be killed by anyone anyways.

They were not slow, the were not immobile, the armor was basically impenetrable by blunt-force and piercing weapons. Daggers through eyeslits and under the arms were the most common kills. And for a reason. Armor was the shit

absolutely astonishing. I had no clue such thin steel could withstand such blows!

I can imagine your arm and shoulder would still be aching from the impacts of the hammer head, assuming they were good square blows. Still better than the alternative though!

I love how you can see the blow glancing at work when you do the stabs.

Just goes to show how much of walking tanks that Medieval knights were.

Why hitting them joint gaps was so important when it came to armored knight battle... a standard longsword would just glide right off that! Even with mail breakers, you still gotta go for joint gaps or helm slits. His polearm vs one handed weapon n shield duel video was on point, with the winning knight getting on top of his opponent and taking a down stab finisher with a mail breaker (or piercing dagger) to his opponent exposed neck. Great content! 👍

I really like your videos. They make me wonder why were even blunt weapons used? It seems like atleast for plate. It is much better to use a sharp pointy weapon for gaps in the armor

If armor was this effective, then how long did battles last in that time period?? Like if 100 men from opposing sides met in the middle of a field to fight, how long do you think it would take until one side is victorious?

I notice the front spike of your polehammer looked bent by the impact, too

Beeindruckend!
