I did the first one once. I was in a gas station with my 2 year old. I grabbed a drink and as i was turning i saw my son dart for the door and i shoved everything in my pockets(phone, keys, THE DRINK), and darted out the door after him. I came back in with my son in tow and when i stepped in i saw a woman behind the counter on the phone and she looked up and said something real quick and hung up. I got to the counter and apologized profusely for leaving the store with the drink. She seemed upset at first but as i explained what happened she laughed and said she's got a little one and has had something similar happen, but shes never seen someone shove stuff in their pocket to chase their kid. She called the cops back and told them everything was good.

One time when I was 12, I pocketed a book light at Walgreens to ask my parents to get it for me, but I completely forgot about it and left the store. Literally nobody knew about it and on the way back home I realized it was still in my pocket, so crushed by guilt I told my parents that I had it and to this day they still don't believe it was an accident. We did take it back to the store though.

When I was 14 got accused of stealing literally a dollars worth of super glue once because I put it in a shirt pocket so I could put my cold hands in my pants pockets. We didn’t even leave the building and the guy was jumping up and down with accusation…

1. For all the Walmart lifters out there here’s some secrets I’ve learned. Most stores have increased the register tech to know whether you’ve actually scanned stuff.
2. Most Walmarts let you steal, but only to build up a better case.
Also speaking of Pikachu, yesterday I pulled the lesser value gold border chase one from a $55 Surging Sparks elite pack. On some listings it’s currently going for $100. I’m hyped because I’ve started a collection for my daughter and I’ve already got a ton of nice ones. Hell I might even end keeping binder of the nicer ones to frame and put up.

When I was 4 years old, I shoplifted a stack of postcards from the Yosemite gift shop. Hotel rooms in those days had free stationary, pens, note pads - and postcards. So in my 4 year old mind, all postcards are free, right? Walked right out of shop with them. Up the road, in our massive black Buick Special, I was found out. Stop the car. 1960s Dad had to make the Command Decision. Long pause. Dad rubbing his face. "Aw, the hell with it." And that was that. Since then, I have mostly stayed out of trouble except for a few traffic tickets.
