If I was the parent I would have got on my kids ass for being rude. Yes the mom is weird for talking to her like that. I would have made her apologize for being an asshole n talked to the mom not to talk to her again like that

I would make my child apologize if the woman apologize too. Sure the woman was belitting the child with her ridiculous behavior but he also has to teach his daughter basic respect.
Anyway, I am on the team talk normaly to a child. Most people I ask to why they baby talk their children tell me difficult words are too hard for them. Wich isn't true, children have more learning and memorising skills than us.

Absolutely no apology needed. Talking to a preteen like theyre an infant is intentionally disrespectful and rude. It doesnt matter how old the person is. If they treat you like garbage and talk down to you, they dont deserve any ounce of respect back
Edit: I know the kid is 6 now but I stand by my statement. Baby talk past the age of 6 MONTHS is ridiculous, let alone years. It's been proven baby talk delays the ability to form speech. If you want your kids to learn to talk, you need to just talk. No baby talk crap. It's rude as hell
