Politicians need to be banned from any property investment. Anyone owning more than 5 properties as a source of income must pay a 75% tax on income and every other property must be made available to lower income people at a charge no greater than 25% of their income. Let’s start making home ownership a human right and not a privilege.

Reform is telling me they can fix the problem while their Deputy Leader Richard Tice is one of the biggest landlord in the country boasting an expansive agency and property portfolio.

12 Mp's spoke in the debate on 'Tennants rights' 11 were private landlords. 1 was a token speaker for Shelter,
We have one clear problem. Its a vested interests problem.

Adnan Hussain, the Independent MP for Blackburn, is a landlord. He has declared ownership of two residential properties in Burnley that generate rental income, and he is also a director of two companies involved in real estate.

We are well overdue a codefied constitution fit for the 21st century. A constitution that establishes the role and responsibilities of the government.

Speaking of clear conflicts of interest, what about the cash gifts given to politicians, such as the 15k given to Rachel Reeves in January (David Sainsbury), and 30k at the beginning of this month (Alison Wedgwood)... Obviously it's small fry compared to the amounts associated with Boris Johnson and Co, but it's surely ripe for corruption if a significant proportion of your wage as an MP is essentially being paid by certain private individuals.

Apart from council housing anything you do to landlords will push up rent, because the avrage landlord makes less than 2000£ profit a year from a property, and those who maje more have an LTD so its a bissiness and therefore is not affected by all your taxes on private land lord, which are usually accidental (e.g. moving from a flat to a house as family grows). So if they all sell, you will get big companies taking up these properties, and then you have a bigger menopoly and service goes down.

I don’t think people who had the privilege of going to a grammar school should be mp’s.

I looked into why Landlords speaking in this debate was not a matter of 'vested interests' or 'conflict of interests the reason is a matter of the way the law is laid out. 'Conflict of interests' only applies to 'procurement of goods'.
Because you are not exchanging anything. The rules don't apply. This is clearly BS. An needs ammending if tennants are to get anywhere.

I asked you on X where else do you expect them to invest to protect their purchasing power? There's only a few options; property, stockmarket, Gold, high yield bonds? Where do you advise them to invest?

Landlords are parasites. No MP should be allowed to be one. Labour need to fix this.

And bringing in gimmigrant type spongers at a rate of 400000 a year , like herself, has no effect on the housing crisis? 48% of social housing in London are occupied by foreign born people, deport them and plenty houses appear. No nonindigenous person should have any say in the running of this country!
