If they're offended by the simplicity, they need to spend a few days playing with guitar pedals. They'd have fun, create new sounds, and probably realize that sometimes less is more.

I've been using cla for years. Found it about it while doing studio sessions with bands from an engineer that is VERY good and knows what he's talking about. Old school guy that started in the days of reel to reel recording
