Very savvy and discerning business practices! Led Zeppelin is definitely worth every penny and more.
Every member of the band was a visionary in their own right!!

Among all the accolades that Zeppelin rightfully deserves another is the way the music business was run. I believe before Zeppelin most of the concert venues would take about 90% of the gate receipts while the artists got about 10%. When Zeppelin came along they reversed that dynamic, they demanded and got around 90% of the gate receipts.

When they played Kezar Stadium in 1973 they were paid $325,000 for the one show. The highest paid concert in history at the time. $2.3 million today.

Jimmy saw his contemporaries get ripped off and knew how not to be.
Brilliant move that freed them up to be all they could

So nice to hear some musicians didn’t get ripped off by lousy managers and record companies. Page probably knew all the stories at the time.

That's the difference between being just a musician versus a musician and a smart business person. A brilliant musician, I might add.

All you kids trying to make it in the music world take note of what they did and use it so that you don't get stuck in a crappy 360 deal and lose all rights to your publishing.

I read Hammer of the Gods in junior highschool -- this was in the early 90's -- and in high school there was this guy who kind of pissed me off for no reason, you know how it is when you're an adolescent, and he always wanted to talk to me about guitars, and I was a bassist then. So to get him to go away, I'd launch into a spiel about how financially revolutionary Led Zeppelin was. "And so Peter Grant goes, "you can have 20 percent of the top grossing band in the world, or 80% of nothing." By that time he all of a sudden had to go to class.

If it were not for music I would not be here today. Thank You for taking me out of my young life til I could get out on my own. I love your artistic achievements. I know I am not the only one who disappeared in a lonely room and played that 45 or album. That's where the babysitting money went. That's how I survived and so many others as well. Blessings to all. ❤😂❤
