Lol, thatâs a trick I started doing years ago when I wasnât very good at running a bead. In showers, tubs, kitchen counters, etc. I still use it because it leaves perfectly straight lines for areas that will be getting close visual inspection every day multiple times a day. As far as the nah sayers go, you do it your way , weâll do it our way. For DIY, this is a great method to get visually appealing results , and that is the focus of his videos. Lastly, there are mildew resistant silicone caulks out there that accept paint and for me, if there is painting to be done, it gets done first then caulk, never had a problem.

You can use silicon but if you do, it means your using silicone on the walls which dont accept paint. Use a polyurethane caulk like dymonic so painter can paint it.
