I was raised Christian and was very involved in my faith. I went on mission trips to Latin America and within the US, attended church retreats, and participated in many church activities. However, when I turned 21, I decided to step away from all of that and do my own thing. I still believed in God, but my relationship with Him faded. Just like any relationship, the less you talk or spend time together, the more it fades, and you start to question if you even know that person anymore. That’s what happened to me.

But recently, I found God again, and I am FOREVER grateful! God welcomed me back home with open arms and no “I told you so” – just all love. Yes, I repented of my sins and now walk with a sincere effort to not sin again. My convictions were so strong that I haven’t committed certain sins again, but that doesn’t mean I won’t ever sin again in a different way. When I do, I ask God to forgive me and strive to sin no more.

“For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There’s no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance, results in spiritual death.” - 2 Corinthians 7:10 (NLT)
