From March to October thousands of whales migrate through the waters in BC. The most common spotted whales are orcas, humpback whales and minke whales. Some of them can even be spotted throughout the year.
In this video Jason Hawes got lucky when orcas passed his house on Galiano Island, BC.

BC’s coastline provides opportunities to observe whales and other marine life in their natural environment. Your best chance to see whales is with a reputable whale watching tour operator who follows strict laws and regulations to ensure our whales and marine mammals can still be enjoyed, but at a safe distance. mersociety.org/ ( @mersociety ) a great resource for learning more about marine wildlife, conservation, and responsible behavior.
