It’s truly sad to see how things could have changed. Madara didn’t have the right hand of cards after all, too many jokers in a game of old maid.
He was naturally good hearted and Hashirama saw that but corruption and a skewed idea on how to fix the world ruined everything. I like to think that there is another timeline where they stayed friends.
