Unfortunately for Ohio, they were very industrial and tons moved there because of it. Think WWII and after until, in my lifetime, and most of this audience as well, the 80's and Reagan administration came along and took most of these manufacturing jobs overseas. Everything closed down in a decade or 2. Our last remaining Steel Mill in my hometown was 3 miles long, they cut it in half along with the employees. GM, left altogether. That my friends will decimate towns. Crime will go up. It's common sense.

I visited Columbus about a year and a half ago and liked that area. I am guessing the crime rates are of the city and not of the metro area? One thing for sure: if I move to the Columbus area, I will not take up fishing!
My guess is that the river was the Scioto or the Olentangy.

Plan on locking up EVERYTHING. And, if you do lock it up, the thieves may still break into it. My brother got tired of the thieves breaking his truck’s windows, so he just left his truck unlocked, and took EVERYTHING with him when he walked away from his vehicle. BIG, BIG drug problems. Columbus, Ohio.

It's already a theft with their backpack or purse or whatever it is being stolen, but it's assault and battery added on by pushing them in to the water. A judge would probably call aggravated theft.
