10 tips for Rest & Body Care:

1. Set a timer and commit to complete the routine every week. For me it’s mandatory every weekend to care for my athletic body.
2. If you can lift more than before, keep going. If you can’t keep up and notice diminishing return of your work, revisit your workout plan to avoid overtraining.
3. Your body’s natural pain killers are released from training, it’s normal to feel old and stiff until you get warmed up!
4. Squeeze in foam rolling into your warm up for leg days and you’ll wake up right away, just try on the side of your quad for a bit!
5. Stay warm and dress according to your home temperature, a cold body is easier to break, a warmer body is stronger.
6. If you don’t have time to do the care routine due to training volume, reduce the training volume to fit it in.
7. Listen to music or audio books while you foam roll and stretch.
8. Only ‘allow’ yourself watching tv shows if you’re working the body or doing cardio at the same time.
9. Keep a K.I.S.S list of ‘what I need to do’ if your day runs from you and now you gotta seize it and make the best out of it. Consider it an action paralysis routine to use when your mind is fried!
10. Stretches and any routine goes stale after time, so will this, every stretch and every move will be in eternal rotation for your benefits, just like you rotate your favorite meals for time.
