Yes I just looked up the "28 Fundamentals" on their site today, because I didn't know what they were & they seemed pretty tepid... nothing really jumped out at me as heretical until I got to the "Investigative Judgment" š³ which should make anyone run screaming from the room quite frankly š±
(I'm not SDA btw; I'm mainstream Christianity & not at all familiar with SDA

First, Myles, thanks for pointing out that we did correct the website. I am that pastor, and Answering Adventist didnāt influence the change (or theology) just pointed out the misprint, regardless of whether you wish to accept that we acknowledge the fundamental doctrine of the trinity of one being of God made up of three persons, which we do. Some Adventist theologians might say āin the one nature of Godā there are three co-equal and co-eternal persons. The term ānatureā stands for ābeingā as they represent, in this case the same concept (as I have understood it). There is only one God (being or nature) made up of three persons. Now if you are going to keep arguing this and misrepresenting us I donāt know what to tell you anymore. By the way I had one of the theologians of our church verify this (differentiating between being and persons) with me in person and he was the one who helped get the website fixed. As for Mrs. White, you quote one sermon where she is not even expounding on the belief just making mention of the heavenly persons using the term ābeingsā (and thatās if that was written the way she spoke it). But in her writings where she is actually expounding on the teachings she either says āthree personsā or āthe heavenly trioā (referring to the three personsā not ābeingsā of the trinity). She uses more the term persons than ātrioā which to me is clear. Anyway this is just a clarification, and even though Myles claims at times that he is not interpreting her writings, just reading them, all writings require interpretation in order to represent them correctly (when it was written, how it was written, to whom it was written, the context of the writing, etc.). Without that we would all misuse the Bible everyday (and people do). The same principles of hermeneutics that apply to the Bible apply to ancient texts and understanding them or to even modern texts when the writer is not around to clarify. And just FYI I am also a pastorās kid, and have attended our schools most of my life, and have sat in theology classes under multiple professors from multiple of our universities, and I teach Biblical hermeneutics. Mylesā representation of our theology is not accurate or complete. Itās his version and understanding/experience and as in any church those with similar experiences flock together. I have even dealt with Baptists, Catholics, etc who would not be a good representation of their churchās overall belief system or lifestyle. This has no bearing on the truth. Just on their circle of experience. And Iām truly sorry for anyone who has had bad experiences and misunderstandings of beliefs within any Christian denomination. Blessings to you all!
