As a dm I have 3 bans no golems I just don't like having golem players as they are op as hell and golem enemies are too hard for a lot of my players. No true evil players, and I'm uncomfortable with evil alignments in general with some exceptions. I just don't like how they tend to come out and how toxic players tend to get with evil alignments. And I don't do suicides, rapes, sexual, assault, ect. I am not comfortable with describing those situations and I refuse to allow players to act out those scenarios. I have bends and exceptions as I am reasonable but for the most part I tell players first thing that I do not like these aspects in my games I am not comfortable with them

I prefer to play as Dragonmarked Subraces when I play 5e, they basically give new options to the majority of core races in the PHB that are unique to them, most of them aren’t broken, except maybe Mark of Handling because turning a chimera, manticore or purple worm into a friendly can be quite powerful, so I at least try to argue my point of view when i do want to play one as any lore part from Eberron could just be hand waved away letting me just play an more interesting, human, half elf, or even a half orc.

My first GM wasn’t comfortable with sex scenes so they’d always fade to black. I myself am terrified of choking (hand around neck kind) and just tell my players to not do it during gameplay. I’ve never had any problem players (yet) so this has all been good. I also “ban” (strongly encourage) players from not contributing to the session. I WILL call you out if you’re on your phone when I’m explaining important shit. I spent 6 month on my life on this! Pay attention!

You should always be willing to try new/difficult things, its how you grow, but its also ok to talk to your players about why you don't want certain classes in your game. I had a GM who refused to let anyone play summoners because of how long it took for players to take their turn. I really wanted to play one, and proved to the GM that I would come to each session prepared with all my summons and what they could do and limited my turn in combats to less than a minute to make it easier on him. Often the disconnect between GM's and players is one of communication not neccessarily game balance. Talking to your group in my opinion solves so, so many problems.
