Saw Karate Kid on vacation with my parents at age 11. Had no idea what I was seeing. Me and my brothers were completely blown away and walked out of the theater doing fake karate on each other. What a memory 😊

Nobody else could have played Noriyuki Miyagi except for the great Pat Morita. They paid great homage to him with the change in music when Pat changed into character in this clip.

Last night, I found out that Daryl Vidal (from the competition) was the stuntman for Miyagi's fights as well as the Crane Kick scenes. I also learned that Darryl (his character's name as well as his real name) is an education tech consultant like my old man... who took me and my sister to see it when I was 10yrs old.
This movie is part of the whole generation
