Acer’s SpatialLabs Eyes Stereo camera captures live streaming images in full stereoscopic 3D at resolutions up to 4K60.
Using Microsoft Teams, we carried out a conversation with an Acer spokesperson. Coupled with one of Acer’s glasses-free SpatialLabs monitors, the effect is quite convincing. Images jump right out of the screen – although this is tricky to convey over standard video.
Surprisingly, the system is actually ready for commercial release later in 2024 at a price of 549 Euros – but the catch is for a full 3D video call, you have to have 3D cameras at both ends of the call, and compatible 3D display devices.
