The Little Squirrel Who Shared

In the heart of Greenwood Forest, there lived a little squirrel named Sammy. Sammy loved collecting acorns more than anything! Every day, he scurried up and down trees, stuffing his cheeks full of nuts and hiding them in his secret stash.

One chilly autumn day, as Sammy was adding to his pile, he heard a tiny voice.

"Brrr… I’m so cold and hungry," whimpered Oliver the Rabbit. His fur was damp from the morning dew, and his tummy rumbled.

Sammy paused. He had so many acorns—more than he could ever eat! But the thought of sharing made him hesitate. What if I run out? he worried.

Just then, Mama Deer walked by and saw Oliver shivering. She knelt down and said, "Sammy, kindness fills hearts warmer than any pile of acorns."

Sammy thought hard. Then, with a big smile, he pulled out a handful of nuts. "Here, Oliver! You can have some of mine!"

Oliver’s eyes lit up. "Thank you, Sammy!" he cheered, nibbling happily.

Word spread, and soon other animals—Penny the Mouse and Bobby the Hedgehog—came by, their bellies empty. Sammy kept sharing until his stash was nearly gone.

That night, as Sammy curled up in his nest, he felt a warm glow inside. Helping others feels even better than collecting acorns!

The next morning, something magical happened—all the animals he had helped brought him little gifts! Oliver brought sweet berries, Penny found shiny pebbles, and Bobby shared cozy leaves for Sammy’s nest.

Moral: Sharing makes everyone happier, and kindness always comes back to you!
