I lived in an area that got cryptosporidium contamination in their water supply and it was late seventies/ early eighties. Publicly owned then. We weren’t notified straight away. My whole family was ill. Eventually a whole new pipeline had to be built because the aquifer had been contaminated and it could not be eradicated.
