If there's more than 1 in your party, everyone pays their own bill.
If a server is utilizing a pad to input the orders, everyone can have a separate order and pay separately.
The whole order splitting concept is from restaurants insisting that anyone with a party of five or more must be all in the same bill.

Great to know this but I'm not splitting a bill evenly when I ordered less they did.
I had a friend that ordered numerous glasses of wine and wanted to pay half the bill. That was a hard no.

Don't think I'll use it tho as takes the same time as, total ÷ 4 × 1.15. Plus easier to work in the drink using brackets.
For eg.
(total - drink, - drink, - drink) ÷ 4 = total without drink & tip
Everyone has their sub total, then + drinks.
Finally, sub total × 1.15 to add tip 15% tip
