Never buy new when you can buy used—especially when it comes to cars. Studies show that many self-made millionaires drive nice cars, but they buy them used.

They typically wait about two years, when the car is still under warranty and in great shape, and save thousands on depreciation. With those savings, they invest in opportunities that build wealth over time.

Choose smart and watch your money grow! 💰🌱

Mine is 17 years old and 250K miles on it and still a good car. No need to say I’m not broke. House already paid of. And have over $200K on stocks. Enough baby ;) just turned 38.

Also my point of view for years! 2or 3 years old cars are still in very good shape but 30% to 40% cheaper !

Buy used to save a bit and then spend the money on tires and brakes and a battery soon after

I bought 3 different “used” vehicles, with cash, all under $10,000 a piece. All three were junk. One of them broke down 8 months after I bought it and wasn’t drivable without putting a new engine in it. I’m sure you used to be able to get a decent car that’s used for a decent price. But these days, used cars are junk. People are dishonest and do t disclose the problems. They only care about the money even though they know they are selling something that will break down. All three of these vehicles were bought at a dealership. Because of this….i bought new. Now, I didn’t go out and buy a $50,000 car! I went with something, that after down payment, was only $25,000. I chose something smaller with good gas mileage. It’s worth it to buy new if you do your homework. I will spend less on my brand new car than I have spent on the three junk “USED” cars I had bought over the last 3 years. It’s not ALWAYS a bad idea to buy brand new. Use wisdom.

My last two trucks I bought new at the very end of the model year. With discounts and factory rebates and having a full warranty, these were way better deals than buying used. At least for me because the little bit of money I would save I would lose double that if my transmission had to be replaced after the warranty expired.

What’s the best thing to invest in?

First part of the message - 100% correct.

Second part is a mental fallacy. „Saving money when spending money“ is a wrong concept.

Please help me - I saved 100‘000$ by not buying a Porsche - how can I invest that 100k and use it later in life?
