My sister in law died of myocarditis many years ago. Long before Covid was around. No doctor or specialist picked up what it was. They originally thought it was flu. My brother went to visit just as the medical staff were trying to save her life in an emergency. He vividly remembers the heart monitor going to a continuous tone.

I had pericarditis when I was pregnant. It was not diagnosed as such. I could not lay down for a week and slept sitting up. My husband at the time insisted that I continue working in our plant nursery. Years later I suffered myocarditis from untreated Spirillum Rat Bite Fever. I think doctors don’t like me. I now have Cardiomyopathy with an initial ejection fraction of 18. It was discovered quite by chance by an astute Consulting Physician. My heart was swollen and the GP said, “oh that’s normal.” I said no it isn’t and I want a referral. I’m now 70 and have had three ICD’S’s.
